A new report has suggested that switching to electric vehicles by 2050 would prevent millions of pediatric asthma attacks and save hundreds of infant's lives.The American Lung Association found that changing to zero-emission vehicles and electric power grids would avert 2.8 million asthma attacks, 2.7 million respiratory symptoms, 147,000 acute bronchitis cases and 508 infant deaths.Studies have found that gas-powered vehicles is one of the biggest carbon polluters in the US, which can be detrimental to children by harming their lung function, causing heat-related stress, and impacting fetal development.
